About Us
Eco Metrics was founded in 2005 to serve the rapidly
growing sustainable building movement. LEED for Existing
Buildings provides significant opportunities for
environmental gains and economic growth. This is the
driving force behind the direction Eco Metrics has taken
with its clients.
We have grown into a national coalition of green building
professionals who have combined our abilities in the
development of an exceptional set of tools for Green
Building Operations and Maintenance (GB O+M).
We apply diverse skills in architecture, engineering,
construction, facility management, energy management,
waste management, and green cleaning to our
experience in commercial, health care, and school
buildings.
Building Operations and Maintenance Consulting Services
Financing
No, we don’t finance your project, but we do show you
how. We help you develop a financing plan using a
variety of tools to build the economic case. You don’t
need a capital plan to implement an energy
improvement.
Estimating
Our 35 years of estimating experience in the construction
industry will support your efforts to quantify your
sustainable building operations improvement plans. We
will evaluate, estimate, and develop an ROI for every
decision you could implement toward a sustainable
building and prioritize it to fit your budget and agenda.
ROI is only half the answer. Financing a project is the
creative side. We will help you understand how to plan
for implementation.
Commissioning
Our expertise in commissioning older buildings comes from
the experience of our commissioning agents. Gray hair is a
prerequisite for our commissioning agents. The experience
is valuable in archaic building systems to extract the
greatest levels of service from the equipment. And to know
when to give up and start over.
Energy Modeling
We have been implementing energy modeling practices
on some Existing Building projects to optimize energy
performance and return on investment. Knowledge of
archaic building structures is required. Energy modeling
also provides access to some nifty tax incentives.
Waste Audit
Waste management is not only a potential cost reduction
measure, it is a potential revenue stream. Many projects
are successful in diverting over 90% of their waste from the
landfill. Our expert waste advisors can help you sort it out.
Education
Training – We provide training seminars to many USGBC
Chapters for CE credits, private parties, universities, and
corporations. Two of our Associates are USGBC LEED
Faculty™
Exam Prep Classes – We have an intensive two day LEED
Exam prep class designed to condense the time you need
to prepare for the LEED BD+C Exam. The course content
follows normal construction sequencing, using interactive
examples, instructions and strategies for taking an exam,
and humorous antics of our superb instructors.
Continuing Education Credits - Eco Metrics has approved
education offerings through the USGBC Continuing
Education Provider program, and is a licensed CE
provider. We also have courses approved through AIA,
IFMA, and BOMA. We have several presentations
developed specifically to help you toward your
professional development needs. Many of our
presentations are geared toward EBOM.
USGBC LEED® Training - Two of our Affiliates are members of
the USGBC LEED Faculty™, and can assist you in setting up
specialized training in your region.
